Bible Study
At Hopewell, we continue to offer a variety of Bible studies to help you grow in your walk of faith. Additional studies (such as for Advent and Lent) will be offered throughout the year, so please be sure to check current bulletins and Newsletters for the most updated information.
Disciple Bible Studies
The Disciple format is an in-depth study of Scripture, which we as Christians need to do to understand who we are and who we belong to. The following Disciple classes are currently being offered at Hopewell:
- Disciple I is for anyone who has never taken the Disciple course before and is a prerequisite for all other Disciple studies. This beginning class is facilitated by Pastor Allan and Connie Henderson, using the format of daily Bible readings by participants, with a video commentary and group discussions during class time. It meets on Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. in Room A-12 of the Administrative Building.
- The Disciple IV Bible Study Class facilitated by Mike Puckett meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Room F-12 of the Family Life Center. This 32-week course focuses half on the Old Testament (“The Writings” consisting of twelve OT books) and half on the New Testament (John and Revelation). The course stresses daily readings, with a 90-minute class time composed of a video commentary by Bible scholars and then group discussion. Anyone who has already completed Disciple I as a minimum is invited to participate.
If you are interested in attending any of these Bible studies, or would like more information, please contact the Church Office.
